SpoTrack has been hailed as the biggest advance in safety for followspot operators during events since harnessing and PPE became mandatory.
Using a computer, software and hardware, SpoTrack allows a followspot operator to move a follow spot remotely with a mouse while comfortably sitting at ground level.
This is as opposed to normally climbing 20 meters into the air, then possibly across a 12″ truss, negotiating their way into a follow spot chair and remaining in situ until a show finishes. Stays of up to 8 hours in this position became industry norms due to the constraints of touring and safety over audience members.
In addition to the safer working conditions for follow spot operators, SpoTrack saves the production companies hugely on insurance costs, Safety and Rescue equipment, logistics and planning.
SpoTrack has further applications for the remote control of cameras, audio, flying and automation systems along with performer safety.
Currently SpoTrack is on tour with Metallica, Sam Hunt, Isogenix and NISO.
